Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks good. Design needs work - see my mod! Why do they think the nozzle should be about 6" above the sink rim? This causes splashing above the sink rim I extended with a stainless spring. FREE DESIGN TIP!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Started dripping within months Had a plumber purchase and install this faucet. It was ok for a few months and then started dripping. After reading some of these reviews I’m thinking I need to replace the cartridge, but I kept thinking it was too soon. I should still be under warranty but the plumber disposed of the packaging. Is there anywhere else to find this information?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super cool spray options! This faucet offers three distinct spray options and one is like the fountain at the Bellagio! Well maybe not quite as elaborate but very fun to watch. There is a center jet that can be directed and the outer spray is swirly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks great ….not happy with the diamond cartridge I've hd this installed when i had a granite top installed about 5 years ago still looks great. Not very pleased with the “diamond cartridge” i had to replace it twice, this time will be #3 . The first time it leaked into, the sink, the second time under the sink and onto the floor which had to be replaced…..in their defense they did send me a replacement cartridge free of charge. Now it is leaking again. Not sure what to do this time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Replacement Delta Kitchen Faucet Overall a good product. Looks great. Very easy to install. No issues, no leaks. One change I would recommend is go back to earlier version of spray nozzle. The “shield spray” is gimmicky at best and ineffective. It significantly reduces the effectiveness of the spray mode.

I purchased the 9178-AR-DST less than a year ago.  I am having trouble figuring out what position the handle needs to be in for cold water.  Please help.  Is there a manual I can look at?

Asked by: Barb
Thank you for your question, Barb! When the faucet is installed with the handle on the right, the full cold position is when the handle is tilted away from the faucet and toward you. Moving it away from you will increase the temperature and moving it toward the faucet will reduce the volume. Best regards, Jon

Can the faucet handle be mounted on the left side rather than the right?  If not, is there a similar faucet with a left side handle?

Asked by: Diane
Hello Diane, Thank you for your inquiry! We recommend installing the Delta Linden Pull-Down Kitchen 9178-AR-DST faucet with the handle on the right. You may install it with the handle on the front or left side, but the temperature adjustment will be opposite of the standard operation for single handle faucets. You can compensate for this by swapping the hot and cold supply lines under the sink. However, the red/blue button will no longer indicate the correct temperature. Best regards, Tanya

Asked by: Renee
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # 9178-AR-DST has a hose that is 54" long. It also has a weight on the hose to help retract it back into the spout. It will pull out until the weight hits the bottom of the faucet.

water pressure is from gravity of storage tank on the roof of houses. May question is: the aerator which is design to reduce pressure fow of water in USA will not restrict too much the flow coming from gavity? perhapps I drill the aerator to give more flow?
Asked by: cesar
Hi Cesar, Thank you for your question. The model 9178-AR-DST requires a working pressure of 20 PSI. Each foot of elevation that your storage tank is about ground level will give approximately .433 PSI. For example 100' of elevation will result in 34.4 psi. Thanks, Dave

Regarding handle placement and the meaning of 'front' If I'm standing at the sink, is front closer to me and under the spout? Installing on an island where clearance is not a factor, can the handle be in the back, opposite the sink side?

Asked by: lhlin
Thank you for your question, LHLIN! The handle placement in "front" would refer to being under the spout and closest to the user. For an installation where clearance does not matter, you can install this model with the handle facing to the back since the spout swivels 360 degrees. Best regards, Edward

new kitchen, Thank you for your question. The spout extends 9 1/4" from the center of the faucet to the center of the aerator and we advise to allow 2 1/2" clearance to the backsplash. Asked by: lefty
Hi Lefty, We appreciate your interest in Delta faucets. All Delta faucets feature the same quality parts, materials, and workmanship, no matter what kind of dealer sells them. The website shows the product at list price. Dealers purchase the product in bulk for selling it readily to consumers, so they are able to offer a much lower price. However, the quality of all Delta faucets are the same. Best regards, Tanya

Hi, Rich! We appreciate your interest in Delta faucets. All Delta faucets feature the same quality parts, materials, and workmanship, no matter what kind of dealer sells them. Delta retail dealers usually sell faucets that include the handles in the boxes. Plumbing professionals and Delta Studio Showrooms sell faucets where the faucets and handles are packaged and sold separately ("LHP" models), giving the customer some additional styling choices. Does the Model # 9178-AR-DST come with a cover/escutcheon?

I see where a previous questioner was told that the stainless steel (SS) model comes with an escutcheon. But, does the Arctic Steel as well? I read a review of the Model # 9178-AR-DST on an authorized retailer's site that complained that their AR did NOT come with the escutcheon, which I believe is a cover that sits at the base of the faucet, to cover any additional holes used by a previously-installed faucet. The photograph of the faucet does NOT show such a cover. Thank you!

Hi, George! Thank you for your question. The Delta 9178-AR-DST faucet spout does swivel 360 degrees. The base assembly should not move. We do recommend to seal the escutcheon plate (base assembly) with silicon sealant to the sink or counter to secure this. Best Regards, Rosanna

Looks like there is a swivel at base of faucet. So do you pull the handle out for on, toward you for cold and away from you for hot? How much clearance do you need at the back to turn hot fully on so the handle doesnt hit wall or backsplash behind it.

Asked by: GAGG
Hi, GGGA! Thank you for your question. The Delta 9178-AR-DST Faucet swivels 360 degrees at the high arc spout. The handle turns on and away from the faucet for cold and the handle turns back for hot water. We recommend a minimum 2 1/2" (64 mm) clearance to back splash. Best Regards, Rosanna

How do I get into the faucet to adjust the gear-like piece that adjusts the temperature? The water gets scalding hot.

All our other faucets in our house don't get as hot as our kitchen. The cold water never really gets that cold either.
Asked by: Charlotte
Hi Charlotte, Thank you for your question. To adjust the Handle Limit Stop, remove the red/blue button, loosen the set screw with an 1/8" Allen wrench, and pull off the handle. The red switch on the top of the cartridge can be flipped to the right to limit the range of the handle on the hot side. While this can be done without turning off the water supply, we recommend to turn them before disassembling the faucet. Best regards, Jon
