RESEÑAS
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Started dripping within months Had a plumber purchase and install this faucet. It was ok for a few months and then started dripping. After reading some of these reviews I’m thinking I need to replace the cartridge, but I kept thinking it was too soon. I should still be under warranty but the plumber disposed of the packaging. Is there anywhere else to find this information?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looks great ….not happy with the diamond cartridge I've hd this installed when i had a granite top installed about 5 years ago still looks great. Not very pleased with the “diamond cartridge” i had to replace it twice, this time will be #3 . The first time it leaked into, the sink, the second time under the sink and onto the floor which had to be replaced…..in their defense they did send me a replacement cartridge free of charge. Now it is leaking again. Not sure what to do this time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A startling decline in quality My previous Leland lasted from 2008 until August of 2021 when the aerator began to deteriorate. Because at some point they changed the design of the Leland, I wound up having to get an entirely new faucet which Delta provided under warranty. I had to get this installed at considerable expense, and exactly 1 year later (08/22) I had to have them send me a new cartridge under warranty because it wouldn't close completely and it leaked. It is now 3/1/24 and it's leaking again, and will need its third cartridge in 3 years. Keep in mind my original made it 12 years on one cartridge. Furthermore, the old Leland used a mechanical clip to retain the sprayer head, but the new one uses a magnet. That magnet failed almost immediately and now the sprayer head just hangs. Overall I am incredibly disappointed in the nosedive in quality that Delta has apparently taken. This is also a $650 faucet, not the $59 Lowe's builder special, which makes this dismal quality all that more unacceptable. Do better, Delta.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 2nd one and also JUNK!!! The second Leland and it's JUNK just like the first oneIt is very difficult to get this faucet in the exact position where it doesn't drip. There are many reviews saying the same, and I am frankly baffled that there are so many 5 star reviews as well. Delta's response is to engage in a lengthy process to flush out the hot and cold lines. I had this faucet for about 9 months and finally threw it out. The faucet I replaced it with requires no such flushing and easily turns off without drips. In my opinion this faucet design is defective and should not be sold.  Bought the 9178 DST it has very little water flow from it . All water lines were flushed. I would never recommend this faucet to anyone. e to hire my plumber to replace. To date, I will have spent too much time and effort phoning Delta and almost as much on my plumber as I have these faucets. Although I love the look, I can't afford to use Delta products ever again. So disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from solid faucet no complaints good pressure and temp select, install was easy with included wrench. magnet failed within 6mos, but delta sent replacement magnets and it's been 3yrs no issues. cleaned out both screens once a year (not hard water) had some problems with dripping bit tightened up the bolt behind sprayer and not an issue. can't take apart sprayer head with wrench...way too hard as there's a slight leak from bottom (separate from the stream or sprayer) and I bet a clean out would help, but it's stuck and included wrench with teeth cams out before i can loosen it...very minor beef after 3 yeara. LOVE THAT LASER STREAM!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE THIS FAUCET 😍 We've only ever purchased faucets from Amazon and box stores like home depot, only to have them fall apart within a year, at the most. This time, at the suggestion of friends who are contractors, we purchased our delta faucet from a local contractors warehouse. It was considerably more than the diy home improvement boxstores for the seemingly same product. But the quality of the overall weight, metal and other components is far superior and worth the price. Apparently manufacturers use a different grade of metals for faucets sold through an actual contractor's store versus the box stores even though on the surface they look the same. I have to say, even though I balked at this initially, and cringed at the price difference for what looked to be the same item, there's absolutely no comparison. I'll never go back to Amazon or the box stores for another faucet again. We had purchased the Delta Leland model #9178ARDST, Clos to 3 years ago and I absolutely love it and have not had a single problem with it falling apart or any other mechanical issues

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great faucet if you can stop it from leaking! I bought this 978-SD-DST faucet in August of 2022. It has performed fine until about a week ago when it refused to shut off. I followed the maintenance directions in the installation instructions but it failed to correct the problem. I have contacted Delta in the hope that they will send a new cartridge ASAP, as I hate to waste water, especially like this. Maybe they can send two, so when this fails again in a year or two, I will be prepared.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a happy Delta customer I've had this faucet for almost 3 years. I had to replace the DIAMOND Seal handle cartridge in October of 2022. I need to replace it again, Adjusting the water temperature is impossible and very frustrating with this faucet. It's either screaming hot, or not hot enough. I am seriously considering replacing it altogether.

I installed this unit in our kitchen about three months ago and it now has no flow of water through it - any suggestions to resolve the problem?

Asked by: Jim McLean
Thank you for your question, Jim! I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing a decreased flow and we are happy to help. We would recommend removing the wand to check for debris as well as performing a flush of the faucet. I have emailed you directly about flushing your model. Please refer to that email for further assistance if checking the wand does not help with the flow. Best regards, Edward

Will the Delta soap dispenser RP44651SP in Spotshield Stainless match exactly in color the Leland kitchen faucets in Spotshield Stainless?

Asked by: Patty
Thank you for your question, Patty! The PVD process we use in the manufacturing of many of our finished products adds the color to our faucets while also providing superior abrasion resistance. We attempt to minimize variations in color by utilizing certain control methods; however, differences in sizes, shapes and materials of individual faucet parts can occasionally produce slight variations in color that are rarely noticeable to the human eye in certain lighting, despite the controls we have in place. can you shut off with handle in any position with leland 9178-SP-DST?

Asked by: Janice
Thank you for your inquiry, Janice! Thank you for your question. We recommend installing the Delta Leland Pull-Down Kitchen 9178-SP-DST faucet with the handle on the right. You may install it with the handle on the front or left side, but the temperature adjustment will be opposite of the standard operation for single handle faucets. You can compensate for this by swapping the hot and cold supply lines under the sink. However, the red/blue button will no longer indicate the correct temperature. Best regards, Tanya

cleaning sprayer assembly

Mineral build up causing low water pressure. How do I take apart and clean?
Asked by: Penny
Dear Penny, Thank you for your question. We do not recommend disassembling the sprayer assembly. To dissolve any sediment that may collect in the aerator or spray face, just soak the face of the spray assembly in a 50/50 or stronger mixture of white vinegar and tap water for 10 to 15 minutes. The large particles of debris are caught in the bottom end of the spray assembly, where it connects to the hose. Just unscrew the spray assembly from the hose assembly and flush the debris out with water from the hose. Best regards, Tanya

We are having a problem with the handle not returning to the full off position. It didn't do this when we first installed it. Now we have to carefully wiggle it back and forth to make sure it is fully off. Is there a way to take apart the main valve?

Asked by: Gayle
Hello, Gayle. Thank you for your question, and I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing a leak from your Delta faucet. We recommend to clean the bottom puck on the valve cartridge assembly and retighten the bonnet nut to stop the leak. To do this, turn the water off at your shut off valve. Remove the handle. Unscrew the bonnet nut counterclockwise. Pull the valve cartridge out and clean the bottom puck on the valve cartridge assembly. Reinstall the valve cartridge assembly and retighten the bonnet by turning clockwise, to the right. Install the handle back on and turn the water back on. Test the faucet. If the faucet still leaks, we recommend to replace both the valve cartridge assembly, RP50587, and the bonnet nut, RP51503. Best Regards, Rosanna

Hi Chris, Thank you for your question. Your model 9178-DST faucet should come with a small t handle wrench to remove the aerator. This wrench comes as a replacement part RP50815. You can soak the aerator and wand in a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water to help break down the mineral build up. Thanks, Dave

what is the difference between the leland model 9178 AR DST and the leland model 19978z SS DST

Asked by: pia72
Hi, Pla72! Thank you for your question. The Delta 9178-AR-DST faucet is available anywhere Delta products are sold. The 19978Z-SS-DST is only available to purchase at Home Depot. Both are exactly the same make and quality, and have the same exact features. Best Regards, Rosanna

Can I order an escutcheon to make this fit a 4 hole sink making the faucet cover 3 holes putting the handle in the 4th hole?

Asked by: Teri
Thank you for your question, Teri! Unfortunately, we do not have an escutcheon for this model. However, you have a couple of options for your installation. You can use this model with two accessories such as a soap/lotion dispenser or hole cover (RP3816, RP52397PC). https://www.deltafaucet.com/kitchen/accessories OR If you are simply looking for a pull-down faucet in the Leland collection, you can use the model 9178-DST instead, which does include a 3 hole plate. Only one accessory would be needed for the 4th hole. https://www.deltafaucet.com/kitchen/product/9178-DST Best regards, Jon
