If using galvanized pipe the valve has a 1/2" male pipe outlet, you would need to install a coupling first and then the length of pipe to the drop ear elbow. Thanks, Dave

Dear Elenore, Thank you for your question. Yes, the Delta Addison Tub and Shower T17492-SS faucet can be install on the Delta MultiChoice Universal Rough-In valve with stops R10000-UNWS. You will need the R10000-UNBXHF rough to go with the T17T253 shower trim, the R11000 diverter rough to go with the T11953 diverter trim, a 50570 wall elbow for the 55530 hand shower and a shower arm and shower arm flange to go with your other showerhead choice. Dear Idler, Thank you for you question. The Delta Tub/Shower faucets require a minimum of 8-16" drop for the tub spout installation, so not to cause a shower rise install issue. This is when the water can't get out of the spout as fast as it flows through the valve. This causes the water to back up and come out the shower head. Hi Amy, Thank you for your question. The plasterguard on the R10000-UNWS must be mounted flush or subflush 1/4" to the finished wall. Unfortunately the only fix is to re-rough the valve to the proper distance. If you have a 13/14 series faucet removing the plasterguard itself and ordering the 3/4" longer RP22735 trim sleeve might work. Thanks, Dave

Hi Chris, The R10000-UNBX and the R10000-UNWS are completely interchangeable. The only difference between the two is that the R10000-UNWS has screwdriver stops which allow the user to be able to turn the water off to the valve for maintenance without having to turn the water off to the entire home.

However, any R10000 valve except for the HF (High Flow) versions will work as a tub-only installation. Hi Tim, Thank you for your question. The flow rate will depend on the trim kit used with the valve. With the 14 or 17 series, the top port of the valve will flow at 5.6 gallons per minute at 60 PSI. The 17T series will flow at 6.7 GPM. Best regards, Jon

When installing a custom Ashlyn shower head, hand shower and tub spout, you must have a diverter on the tub spout for the water to divert up to the other installed showering units. The tub spout can only be connected to the bottom port of the R10000-UN and the shower head and hand shower should be connected to the R11000 to and right side port of the diverter valve. If you try to plumb the showerhead to the tub port and the raincan showerhead to the top port on your Delta Faucet model R10000-UNBX, you will get water out of both showerheads. However, it will not be even pressure and there is no way to control it. Both showerheads will always come on when you turn on the faucet.

Hi Robin, Thank you for your question. The only extension kit available for the R10000-UNWS works if you are using a 17 series thermostatic trim. The part number is RP75136. If you are using a T13, T14, or a T17 series pressure balanced trim, there is no extension kit available that will work with the R10000-UNWS. Thanks, Dave

Hi Rebecca, Thank you for your question! If you are using a shower only, with no other components (hand showers, body sprays, etc), then you can use either of these valves. The UNWS version includes is With Stops (WS), which allow you to turn the water off at the valve in the wall while installing the trim or doing repairs, and the tub spout port can be easily capped off by a plumber for a shower only installation. The temperature and volume control will be determined by the trim kit you use. The HF rough is for shower only. The valve does not have the tub port which allows for a higher flow rate. The rate difference depends on your household water pressure, valve, and trim choices. Hello JLHardy, Thank you for your question. The Delta Foundations Tub and Shower B114915C model includes the necessary rough-in valve and cartridge assembly. It will not fit on a MultiChoice R10000-UN valve. MultiChoice valves work with 14, 17, or 17T series trim kits. Best regards, Tanya
