RESEÑAS
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wrong part When the plumber began putting together the shower, he said the threads on one of the parts had a manufacture error. We ended up having to purchase ANOTHER valve and will have to pay the plumber even more to come back and to finish the job. Our project is now delayed and we are out even more money. Very disappointing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Tons of dripping water from shower head Since we purchased this and installed it (with the Dryden tub/shower faucet), it hasn't worked. We have had 2 plumbers come and try to "fix" the issue, but it won't divert the water properly, so the water from the shower head runs even when we are trying to get the tub faucet to run. It's been a real challenge to get fixed. If this is supposed to work with the faucet as listed, it should work! But this has been a really big headache for us.

Preguntas y respuestas

Can I buy extra parts to upgrade the R10000-UNWS & T17253 to equal the T17T453?

I need to add a bathtub faucet and thermostatic cartridge. If I buy the RP53419SS faucet and the RP47201 thermostatic cartridge, will they work with the R10000-UNWS MultiChoice Rough and T17253 shower trim kit?
Asked by: jumperboy
Hi Jumperboy, Thank you for your question. While the tub spout would work, the thermostatic cartridge RP47201 would not work with the handles for the T17253. You would also need the RP62960 volume handle, RP62959 temperature knob, and RP50879 sleeve. http://www.deltafaucet.com/search/results.html?q=RP62960%2C+RP62959%2C+RP50879+ Thanks, Jon

I just installed a R10000unws tub/shower valve and have water coming out of the shower head and tub spout all the time?

Even though I have not pulled the shower knob up on the tub spout to activate the shower head, water is coming out of both the tub spout and shower head? Is there a direction (top or bottom) that you have to install the rough-in valve? Can you connect the tub spout or shower head up to either port?
Asked by: Joe
Hi Joe, We are sorry that you are experiencing a problem with your faucet. Most likely, you are experiencing "shower-rise" where the water can’t get out of the spout as fast as it flows through the valve. This causes the water to back up and come out the shower head. There can be one of several reasons for this: The valve could be upside down The length from the valve to the tub spout is outside of the 8" to 18" rule There is more than one 90-degree angle Something other than copper or galvanized pipe was used going to the spout The most common reason is that there is something restricting the water flow to the spout, e.g. solder or something lodged in the pipe. Something is impeding the flow of water to the spout and causing it to back up and go out the shower head. If this is the cause of shower-rise it is possible to remove the blockage by removing the tub spout; then, feeding a plumber’s snake or a speedometer cable up through the tub drop. The act of feeding it causes it to twirl and loosen the blockage. Be sure to flush the valve before reinstalling the tub spout. Be sure to check the tub spout itself for blockage. If none of these help, you may need to call a plumber. After the shower has been installed and the wall has been closed, there is little that can be done to remedy this situation yourself. Stops touch escutcheon

The valve stops stick out, blocking the escutcheon from screwing tight to the shower surround. Is there a shallow escutcheon plate or spacer that will fix this?
Asked by: Sky
Hi Sky, Thank you for your question! Please make sure that the plaster guard is flush (or up to 3/8" sub flush) with the finished wall. If the valve is out too far, you may turn the stops 3 turns in from the full open position without a noticeable reduction of flow. This will provide an additional 1/8” of clearance for the escutcheon. Best regards, Jon

my brother has a new shower and the handle on the valve trim will only turn a quarter of the way. He gets very little hot water

Could he need the temperature limit stop adjusted. Or could something else cause this
Asked by: lku1
Hi Iku1, Thank you for your question. The motion of the handle will run from 3 o-clock (off) to 12 o-clock (full on). The faucet is equipped with a rotational limit stop where you set how hot the water can get. I have attached a link to a video to show you how to make this adjustment. I would like to know if this product will fit any Delta shower trim kit, or even a trim kit from another manufacturer like Kohler or Moen in case I want to change the trim in the future. Also, will this product work with a combination showerhead/handheld

Asked by: Linda
Hi, Linda! Thank you for your question. The Delta MultiChoice Universal R10000-UNWS rough valve body works with any of our Delta 13/14, 17, and 17T series trim kits. We cannot guarantee that they will fit with other brand trim kits. The valve body does work with both shower head and tub spout installations. Best Regards, Rosanna

Does cartridge RP46074 fit MultiChoice R10000-UNWS roughin?

I bought a R10000-UNWS Delta Rough in with stops, and a trim kit T13291-LHD. The box of the trim kit says it fits multichoice universal valve. However, the cartridge type that came with the trim kit is RP46074 that has "longer lower housing". The extra length will cause the handle to be more than 4 inches away from the finished wall (which looks ugly) if we follow the instructions to install it such that the plaster guard of the multichoice roughin is flush with the finished wall. It seems that the plaster guard should be about 1 inch subflush with the finished wall. My question: Did I get the wrong cartridge, or are the multichoice valve instructions obsolete, or have I misunderstood it? Any advice is appreciated!
Asked by: wei
Thank you for your question Wei! RP46074 is the correct cartridge for the Multichoice R10000-UNWS valve and the plasterguard should be flush or subflush 1/4" to the finished wall according to the installation manual. Distance from the stringer to the front of the plasterguard is 2-3/4" ± 1/4" (70 mm ± 6 mm). Distance from the stringer to the front of the bonnet is intended to be 3 7/8" (99 mm.) This is for reference only. If you need further assistance with this installation you can call us directly at 1-800-345-3358. Best regards, Edward
