Asked by: Terry
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # R10000-UNWS contains a plasterguard that is used in aiding the installation of your faucet. It is not necessary to the functionality of the faucet. If you would like to replace it, the replacement part number is RP46075.

Installing Dryden series shower (T17T251), hand shower (57051 & 50570-) & tub spout w/o diverter (RP54323). Using the R10000-UNWS, T11951, & R11000. Do we need tub spout WITH diverter?

Asked by: MichiDan
Thank you for your question, MichiDan! A Diverting tub spout will need to be connected to the bottom port of the R10000-UNWS in order to divert the water to the R11000 diverting valve. We do not recommend diverting to a tub spout directly from this type of valve as there will be a noticeable reduction in pressure. Best regards, Edward

Our hot and cold lines have shut off valves already. Do we need to install the stops in this case?

Asked by: Daniel
Thank you for your question, Daniel! The stops must be inserted in the R10000-UNWS valve body. You could alternatively use the R10000-UNBX valve that does not include screwdriver stops. https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/R10000-UNBX Best regards, Edward

In specification "min 8 inches, max 18 inches" from the control to the tub spout, where is the measurement taken? Pipe length or elsewhere?

Do I measure the distance from the center of the control or from the bottom outlet to the spout?

R10000-UNWS Supply Pipe Sizing

I purchased a R10000-UNWS for my shower along with a rainhead and handheld wand. The valve body appears to come with 3/4 in fittings but my house piping is 1/2 inch copper pipe. Is is OK to use an adapter from 1/2 to 3/4 into the hot/cold water suply without adversly affecting the performance. My water pressure runs between 60-70 psi. If not, do you have models with a 1/2 in fitting? Thanks in advance Dan
Asked by: Dan
Hi Dan, Thank you for your question! This valve has 1/2" NPT male threads with 1/2" female sweat supply fittings. Smooth 1/2" copper pipes can be soldered directly into the valve. Thanks, Jon

How do I find trim kits for this valve?

Asked by: knarans
Thank you for your question. Delta model #R10000-UNWS is our Multichoice Universal rough. This will work with an array of tub/shower trims that have a single, dual, or dual thermostatic cartridge. Throughout our website, we recommend searching for tub/shower units that begin with T13*** or T14*** for the single; T17*** for the dual, or T17T*** for the thermostatic trim options. The cartridge will ship with the trim package selected.

Rough-in Valve R10000-UNWS

I have R10000-UNWS Rough-in valve, and I am going to plug the tub spout port(buttom threaded male port), as there is no plan to install tub spout, and this is for T17294-SS-I only. Could you instruct me what kind of pipe/tube cap to use for plugging this port - dimension/size, material type, spec. Thanks very much for your help. Ken
Asked by: Ken
Thank you for your question. Delta Faucet model # R10000-UNWS can have the tub port plugged if you are not using a tub spout. We do not supply the plugs. It is a 1/2" pipe and if you contact your local retailer or wholesaler, they should be able to supply you with the appropriate plug.

Asked by: Liz
Hi Liz, Thank you for your question. The R10000-UNBX is the most commonly used version of the rough. If you want to be able to shut the water off at the faucet when doing any repairs the R10000-UNWS will work for you as well. Thanks, Dave

How do you remove the Bonnet from the Rough-In Assembly

The Bonnet is tightly attached to Rough-In. What is the best way to remove it without damaging the Rough-in?
Asked by: Brian_Okc
Hi Brian, Thank you for your question. If your bonnet nut is hard to remove we recommend soaking a towel in a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water and wrapping the towel around the bonnet nut. Allow the towel to soak overnight if possible. This should help break up the mineral build up allowing the nut to be removed. Thanks, Dave

I currently have a builder installed shower which has the R10000-UNWS roug along with the T14051 trim. The lower connection of the rough is capped. Is it possible to add a diverter functionality to this setup which would allow me to add a hand spray

Asked by: John
Thank you for your question, John! There are a couple options to divert the water between the shower head and a hand shower. The first is an in-wall diverter, which will require plumbing work. For this, you will need the R11000 Rough-In Valve and a 3-Setting Diverter Trim Kit to match your shower valve trim such as the T11851. You will also need a supply elbow for the hand shower hose, such as the 50560. https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/R11000 https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/T11851 https://www.deltafaucet.com/parts-product-detail?modelNumber=50560 The second option is to use a shower arm diverter, such as the U4923-PK or U4929-PK. https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/U4923-PK https://www.deltafaucet.com/bathroom/product/U4929-PK Best regards, Jon

Valve connection to tub spout

Our plumber installed pex between the universal valve and the tub spout, using a drop ear fitting where the tub spout will go. I have re-read the instructions and realize this was incorrect. We have not closed up the wall yet, so I am wondering if we can fix this ourselves. Does the copper pipe connection require soldering? How does the iron pipe install on the valve? I'm not sure which would be easier.
Asked by: robinja
Hi robinja, Thank you for your question. To install copper pipe on the R10000-UNWS you would have to solder the pipe connections. If using galvanized pipe the valve has a 1/2" male pipe outlet, you would need to install a coupling first and then the length of pipe to the drop ear elbow. Thanks, Dave
