RESEÑAS
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Correct Installation is important. It looks good and works well, once we got the installation tweaked. It kept stopping the first few days and the plumber had to return to adjust something under the sink.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Touch faucet can be a problem I bought this "touch" faucet, but you cannot just turn it on. You must touch it for it to come to life. So what happens when the battery for the solenoid is dead: it will not turn on, If you are using the adaptor plug and power goes out, I believe it will not turn on. That's what the people at Delta told me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delta quality Works exceptionally well but does have a learning curve to operate without soaking yourself

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The Love doesn't last We love the touch feature, we live by it, and find ourselves tapping sinks everywhere we go that is not our kitchen. But, our faucet is 4 years now, and we had to essentially argue to get a replacement solenoid by year 3, and after another year it has gone out again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What junk! The only reason this faucet got 1 star is because 0 stars wasn't available. I am so disappointed, angry, and frustrated with this faucet. I cook a lot and I was so excited to have this "touch on" feature. I have spent far more money on plumbers bills to fix this faucet (multiple times) than its purchase price. I had this installed about 5 years ago. First, about two years in, I had water leaking from the handle. To Delta's credit, they sent me a replacement part free of charge, but the bill for the plumber was on me. Shortly after that the light that senses water temperature failed. I bought a new solenoid (a nearly $200 part) and paid the plumber's bill to replace it. Unfortunately, that did not solve the light issue -- the sensing for cold water worked, but the red light never worked again. I decided to ignore the temperature sensing malfunction since the faucet worked without it. Now, another two years down the road, the solenoid has failed again -- the "touch on" feature, which was the only reason I bought this faucet, no longer works. I could've paid a whole lot less for a conventional faucet, but the "touch on" feature was important to me. Something else to note: with the touch feature not working, regular use of the handle every day, all day, loosens the screw in the handle which makes the handle loose and flop around. The handle screw needs to be tightened weekly. TLDR: Save money and aggravation and buy another faucet.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing at every turn I took comfort in the Delta name and lifetime warranty 9 years ago when I purchased my very first fancy touch faucet. About 6 months ago, while cleaning, it started its decline and ultimately became inoperable. Delta sent 2 sets of parts but the more I tinkered with the worse it got. Finally I received a new unit which was supposed to be an upgrade. Definitely not. A contractor installed last night and the touch worked perfectly. Today we’ve had to touch it up to 4 times to turn the unit on. The sprayer is weird and does not give a normal spray. Who wants 2 side sprays? The splashless option is pretty useless. The faucet doesn’t pull out smoothly like my previous unit but maybe that will wear down over time. The “upgraded” version style isn’t as modern looking with its handle as my previous version. So I am disappointed but after having no working faucet for 7 days I was grateful to be able to cook and clean the kitchen again. I’d love to share my video but only a YouTube video link is permitted.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Delta faucet At installation the Delta Faucet there was a slight drip / leak coming from the handle . The plumber who installed the faucet to check it and saw no issues. The faucet continues to leak. The plumber will return to replace the cartridge to determine if this is the problem. Disappointed for such a good brand and quality faucet

We have had the Leland faucet (9178T-SP-DST) for a few years now. We love it for the most part. Lately though the water flow has reduced significantly. When I take off the spray head, the water flows with normal pressure. Can you help?

The other day the cold water stopped working, almost like the valve does not open when we move the handle to cold. No recent maintenance on the plumbing system or other indicators of trouble. Faucet has been in operation for approximately 6 mo

Asked by: Bills79
Hello Bills79, Thank you for contacting us, I would be happy to help you. To flush the unit, we recommend the following: Start with the easy stuff: Remove your aerator, wand or hose to check the flow through the unit without that part installed. If the flow is good, the piece you’ve removed is where the issue is. Soaking the part in a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water could help remove any particles or debris blocking the flow. If the water does not have a good flow, the problem could be in the faucet. Next, check the supply lines for debris: Turn the supply off to both the hot and cold-water lines. Once off, turn the handle on the faucet to the on position and leave it there to bleed the lines of any excess water. Next, disconnect the hot water supply line and place it inside of a bucket. Once the line is securely positioned into the bucket, turn on the cold-water supply. Please contact us back if you have any questions or need further assistance. Best Regards, Nicole

When my faucet handle is in the on position but the water is off using the touch feature, water pools around the bottom of the faucet. If the handle is in the off position it doesn't leak. How can this be fixed?

Asked by: Doxie
Hi Doxie, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company about the 9178T-SP-DST! I am sorry for the leak you are experiencing, at that location, we would recommend flushing the faucet and making sure the bonnet nut that holds the cartridge in the valve is tight. If the bonnet nut is tight, the cartridge would need replaced. Please contact us directly if you have any questions or need additional assistance. I notice that the delta models that have a ball like handle, Overland/Leland, control hot water by pushing the handle back while the L shaped handles, Dominic/Charmaine, control hot water by pushing the handle forward. Is this by design or am I mistaken?

Asked by: JamesF
Hello JamesF, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model 9178T-SP-DST LELAND® Single Handle Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet With Touch2O® And ShieldSpray® Technologies. I apologize for any difficulty finding this information. We are happy to help! To increase the hot water, the user will push the handle back or away. A faucet model with a more perpendicular handle uses a Euro-motion valve cartridge. For example, the Charmaine 19962TZ-SD-DST will increase the hot water by pulling the handle forward. Thanks for your question, Cindy! The spotshield stainless steel finish of the 9178T-SP-DST would have previously been called brushed nickel. There will always be slight variations in finish color, but this would be the best match instead of the arctic stainless. Best regard, Bryan

This can most likely be resolved by adjusting the installation below the sink. Please make sure that no wires are touching metal objects or other wires. Next, unplug the black LED wire and push it back in firmly until it clicks. Please reset the solenoid by removing the cap from the battery box for one minute and reconnecting it. Be sure to use a new set of brand name, non-rechargeable batteries, and install them as indicated on the box. Please also ensure that the battery box is placed on the floor of the cabinet, 2 inches from the sides or metal objects. To switch the faucet to a manual mode, turn the faucet on so that water is running and then remove the cap from the battery box. Thank you for being a loyal Delta Faucet customer. We look forward to continuing to serve you. Please feel free to contact us back for further assistance. Best Regards, Kelley

Is there a flow restriction that can be removed from the Delta 9178T-SP-DST Kitchen faucet? We have very low water pressure and the flow is to slow compared to our old faucet

Asked by: Bobby
Hi Bobby, Thanks for your question regarding 9178T-SP-DST! No, this model has a maximum flow rate of 1.8 GPM at 60 psi. We do not recommend removing or modifying the flow restrictor as this will void the warranty and may cause it to no longer comply with state or federal plumbing codes. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or for further assistance. Best Regards, Emma Digital Communications Specialist

I have this faucet and it is beginning to leak and makes a strange sound when I turn it off and on. I had a plumber out, years ago, for the same issue. He took off the handle and put some kind of ‘filter’ in it. Where can I buy one myself?

Can I extend the run time beyond 4 minutes before auto shut off? Is there a way to by-pass the solenoid to use faucet in manual operation?

Asked by: AMiller
Hello AMiller, Thank you for your question, I would be happy to help you. Unfortunately the 4 minute timer can not be adjusted longer, please see below for steps to make it non touch(manual): With the faucet running water, disconnect the battery pack by opening it. Or if you have an open battery tray, remove the batteries. You now have a manually operated faucet. The solenoid was open allowing water to flow through and is now stuck open because you removed the power it would use to close. Reconnecting the battery would close the solenoid and make it electronic again. Please contact us back for any further questions or concerns. Best Regards, Nicole

Does this model have a cartridge to replace. Mine Is dripping and hard to shut off completely if not in an exact position

Asked by: Cindy
Hi Cindy, Thanks so much for contacting Delta Faucet Company! The LELAND® Pull-Down Kitchen Faucet MODEL#: 9178T-SP-DST uses the Cartridge DIAMOND™ Valve MODEL#: RP50587. Parts can be purchased online or locally. Please see our Where to Buy page for help finding dealers in your area or online. https://www.deltafaucet.com/where-to-buy It is possible that a flush could resolve this issue. To flush the supply line, first shut off the hot and cold-water supply. Remove the hot supply line from the shut-off valve and place the line into a bucket. Open the handle to the fully open middle position, and then turn the cold supply back on for one minute. The cold water should flow through the faucet and out of the hot supply tube. Reconnect the supply line and repeat with the second line. Please reach out with further questions! Best Regards, Kelley Digital Communications Specialist
