I started a work order with them and they responded to my initial request by asking for more information. I provided more information under their case 15630461 and nothing. This is an expensive faucet to replace so fixing broken parts would save some money. Delta has been less than helpful with this.

To replace my current tub and shower with the Delta Linden Monitor (Model T17494-RB-I), will I be required to do the MultiChoice® Rough-In Installation (as shown in installation instructions) or can I use my supply buried in my wall?

Thank you for your question, List Lady! We are happy to help. The cartridge included in the T17494-RB-I would only be able to be installed in a MultiChoice rough-in. You may already have the MultiChoice rough-in if you have a Delta faucet installed after 2006. Also, if you are replacing a Delta 17 series faucet from before 2006 the trim will fit your existing cartridge. Please reach out if you have any questions or need additional assistance. What is the reason for the 8” minimum and 18” maximum distance between the valve and the tub spout?

Hi JDS13, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model T17494-RB-I Linden™ Monitor® 17 Series Tub & Shower Trim With In2ition® In Venetian Bronze. We will be happy to assist you as quickly as possible. The tub spout pipe installation instructions are to prevent shower rise. Also called "stacking", shower rise is when the water can’t get out of the tub spout as fast as it flows through the valve. This causes the water to back up and also come out of the showerhead when only the tub spout should flow. Please contact us directly if you have any questions or need additional assistance. after just under two years of use, the shower head has become loose at the ball joint just past the thread connection. I have the Raincan shower head, 58065. How can I get this tightened up so the shower head holds position?

The Delta T17494 SS- I In2ition  main control handle goes completely around is that normal for this valve? I just had it installed by the plumber. The fine tune knob for water temperature does not rotate completely.

Purchased linden monitor. Shower pressure seems low compared to the delta that was in there. I got the temp adjusted. Is there anyway to increase the pressure? Customer is not happy. Thank you, tom

Hello Thomas! Thank you for your question and we are happy to help. We apologize for this information not being readily available to you. We recommend flushing the valves of the Delta Faucet Linden™ Monitor® 17 Series Tub & Shower Trim With In2ition® In Chrome MODEL#: T17494-I. To flush the valves, please follow the instructions below: Turn off the hot and cold supply to the valve. This may involve shutting off the water to the entire residence, or for the room or fixture. [Or there may be supply stops on the valve itself behind the escutcheon requiring removal of the handle.] Turn the volume control on to relieve any pressure behind the valve. Remove the handle, There may also be a trim sleeve to slide off of the valve. If you have supply stops on the valve itself, you will remove the escutcheon plate to access those. Remove the bonnet. A strap wrench works best to not deform the bonnet. Caution: Be careful not to twist the valve. Remove the cartridge by wiggling as you pull, taking care to protect the stem. If the cartridge has a metal stem, reattach the handle to provide a better grip. Check inside the valve for any other components and remove those. Once all the parts have been removed from the valve, close the shower curtain or door. Caution: the water may be very hot. Turn both of the water supply valves on full and let the water run for 60-90 seconds. Perform any maintenance on the removed components. Reassemble the shower valve. Check for leaks. With tub/shower how would you fill the tub?

Hi Tina, Thank you for your question about the Delta Faucet model T17494-I. This tub and shower trim uses metal and nonmetallic materials. Nonmetallic parts are used to ensure a long-lasting, high-quality product while maintaining safety control for the various temperatures of water. With any hand shower, for example, the part that you would grab onto is typically made of plastic or a plastic mixture, as metal is heavier, susceptible to corrosion, and retains heat. Documents state you need a universal valve R1000.  Is there different models of R1000? I purchased the Linden monitor 17 series tub & shower series.  The valve I purchased is a delta r1000 UNBXHF.  Will this valve work?

I am sorry this information was not readily available, and I am happy to help! The handle/mixing valve trim will fit any R10000 model. But unfortunately, high flow (HF) models are for shower only and do not have a tub outlet. R10000-UNBX is one example that will work. Models are also available with Pex crimp connections R10000-PX or with stops R10000-UNWS. I purchased this T17494-SS-I Kit to replace old Delta Series 1400 Monitor Faucet. Will the new cartridge included with the 17 Series Kit fit in the existing rough in valve? Need to know whether I need to replace the valve or use a different cartridge.

If I have a old delta monitor 13 valve in my shower, can i still use this 17 series trim kit without taking down tiled wall to replace entire valve? Thanks

Hello vshiu, Thank you for your question about Delta Faucet shower trims. We are happy to help! If your shower was installed after 2006, the MultiChoice valve would allow you to install a new 17 series trim like the T17494-CZ. An older valve would not allow a 17 series trim, but a new 13 or 14 series trim can be installed onto an old 1300 or 1400 series. The cartridge in the new trim would not fit the old valve, but the new trim will install onto the original cartridge and valve. We have the Linden 1700 but want more pressure. Can we install a new cartridge to increase pressure? If so what cartridge to we need to order?

Hello Steve, Thank you for your review regarding Delta Faucet R22000! We apologize for the inconvenience and will be happy to help! The cartridge assembly does not determine the flow of water. Shower heads and hand showers will have a flow restrictor built in them per law restrictions. If you have resistance with the flow of water please soak your shower head in a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water for a few hours. This will loosen debris and buildup in the shower head or hand shower. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to better serving you in the future. We recently had the shower/tub combo installed. The tub seems to flow well, but the shower runs quite slow. PSI at an outdoor faucet is around 90. Any ideas?

Will the cartridge included with this kit fit an old 1400 Series Monitor rough in valve? Or do I need to purchase a separate cartridge to make this work? Wouldn't want to tear down tiles and mess with existing pipes.

If your current Delta 1400 series was installed prior to 2006 the only way to update your trim without having to change the rough in valve, is to purchase a 1400 series trim kit and use the existing cartridge. If your current trim was installed after 2006 you may update your trim without changing the rough in valve. Best Regards, Simone
